Skimpy swimwear seems to be everywhere we look; on magazine covers, at the beach, local poolside and in advertisements all over every medium we come into contact with. The skimpy bathing suits that we seem to see everywhere on a daily basis are fun to look at and even giggle quietly under our breath at the minimal coverage swimwear. However uncomfortable some may be with the bearing of the most private skin there are swim suits that will always push the boundary of our comfort zones. There are designers that are specifically interested in experimenting with how sexy the swim suit can become, how much skin can be shown and still be worn in the public swimming arena.
As designers have become more bold and brave in the production of the skimpy swimsuit and will continue to do so each passing year. The more minimal the swimwear can be the more confident the designers become in creating sexier and more skimpy swimsuits every year. \
The evolution of minimum coverage swimwear has gone from skimpy tiny swimwear to very skimpy swimwear.
This started mainly with the skimpy one piece swimwear, what used to be a full coverage swim suit has progressively become lower cut at the neck and breasts and higher cut at the legs; there are even some one piece swim suits that are composed primarily of straps and strips of material no wider than an inch.
As the one piece became smaller and smaller the skimpy bikini swimwear was introduced
and it too has become smaller and smaller over the years. Until it has almost completely disappeared leaving us with the skimpy micro swimwear which covers only the most private and forbidden areas of the body and then finally to the skimpy g string swimwear in which the back of the bathing suit has completely disappeared. Skimpy swimwear manufacturer make more and more money every year as the more skin that is shown the more many will spend on the suit, this is the epitome of 'sex sells'. Minimal coverage swimsuits will continue to shrink in size and grow in popularity as long as designer find new and creative ways to execute less coverage and keep their suits in the lime light.
